What Westerners Said About The 40th Reunion

Hello all you wonderful people:
I just wanted to give each of you a big THANK YOU!!!!!!  for all the work you did to make this past weekend an absolutely wonderful reunion.  I can’t express how much it meant to me to see you and so many of my LHS 65 classmates.  The work on this project you put in must have been absolutely incredible and I can’t thank you enough for doing it.

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did and if so, we know those who didn’t attend would be disappointed that they didn’t show up. I’ll be happy to do anything I can for the next reunion if you need some help as long as I am able.

We really need to get the word out to those who didn’t attend that they missed a really great event.  Wouldn’t it be nice to see twice as many graduates there next time?

I have so many wonderful memories of all the people with whom I got to visit.  I am really disappointed that some I really wanted to see didn’t show.  Oh well…there is always the 2010 reunion.  I’ll be there.

"Thank you" seems too small a group of words to express the wonderful time I had! To each of you who worked so hard, my sincere appreciation.  I was truly blessed this weekend with renewed friendships and the initiation of many new friendships. Gloria Shaw, I so appreciate your efforts and the chance to get to know you better.

To each of you to whom I gave hugs and from whom I received hugs, why did we waste these past 40 years?

The first song on the CD is entitled "Friends are Friends Forever" and for LHS Westerners it has proven to be so true. Again, thank you to all who made my weekend – and my husband’s – a true event of a lifetime

Donna Jackson Locke

I would like to express my appreciation for all of the hard work that everyone did to make this such a memorable reunion. This was my first reunion and I am already looking forward to the next one.

Danny, thank you for being such a wonderful MC. All of the wonderful memories and funny stories that were brought up. I also would not take for the CD.

I overcame cancer a few years ago and it certainly changes your outlook on life. Old friends are the best friends and the only regret was that I did not have enough time to really get around to visiting with everyone.

The book that Martha made will be a wonderful beginning to getting in touch with those that did not make it to the reunion and try to encourage their participation in the next one. My husband spent one full night just reading about everyone and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for everything that was done to make it such a wonderful reunion.

God bless you,

Sharon Bennett Reid

I really enjoyed seeing you and so many classmates from Lubbock High.  Thanks for your efforts organizing and planning the reunion; it was great. I look forward to additions to the website and emails from classmates.

The reunion was more than I imagined it would be.  The friendships and genuine support exchanged between classmates was wonderful.  Nicky Gage told of his Vietnam experience at the Matthews breakfast.  It was a riveting account of a young man witnessing man's inhumanity to man, and the 20 years of therapy and shear will power it took to get him to a point of being able to talk about it.

Jane Herron Graham

What a great reunion we all had!  Thank you for all the effort you put forth in a very limited amount of time!  We just so enjoyed getting to know old friends in new ways!  I wish I had had more time to visit with you, but I know firsthand a chair never really has a spare moment during an event!  I hope this week will find you relaxing and reflecting on a job well done! Thank you from all of us, and especially Walt and me!

Warmly,

Walt and Carol (Keith) Barret

This was the best and I congratulate and thank all of you that put it together in the short time you had. Actually, that may have been a key, simple may have been better. I can say simple, because all I saw was the results, and it was great.
